Welcoming From Soil to Soul, Celebrating Circular Innovators, and Paving the Way for SF Climate Week 2025
Rethink the Runway Weekly Recap - March 3rd, 2025
Last week at Rethink the Runway (RTR) was nothing short of transformative, marking new milestones and celebrating the creativity that drives sustainable fashion forward. Here’s a look back at the highlights that are setting the stage for a future where fashion works in harmony with nature.
Welcoming Our First Official Community Partner: From Soil to Soul
We are thrilled to announce that From Soil to Soul has joined us as RTR’s first official community partner. This collaboration is a natural extension of our mission to propel fashion beyond mere sustainability into the realm of true regeneration.
From Soil to Soul isn’t just a documentary - it’s a movement that brings together regenerative agriculture, indigenous wisdom, and bold climate action. The film dives deep into stories of farmers, scientists, activists, and visionary brands who understand that the soil is the foundation of a regenerative future. At RTR, we believe that fashion can be a powerful tool for restoration - actively healing the planet by giving back more than it takes.
This partnership reinforces our shared vision of a circular, regenerative fashion industry. As we gear up for SF Climate Week, we’re excited to continue driving conversations that highlight tangible ways fashion can transform our world. Stay tuned for more updates as we shape a future where every garment celebrates a connection to the Earth.
Spotlight on Mira Musank: Program Director at Rethink the Runway
Meet Mira Musank, Program Director at Rethink the Runway and the creative force behind Fafafoom Studio. Mira’s passion for sustainability is evident in her transformative work with discarded materials - from industrial scraps and pre-loved garments to overlooked textiles - all reimagined into one-of-a-kind fashion pieces.
Her innovative textile upcycling has already made a significant impact, having diverted over 300 pounds of materials from landfills, recirculating them back into local communities. With her art showcased at Climate Week events in SF, LA, and NYC, Mira is not only challenging the norms of a linear economy but also inspiring a shift towards a circular approach that values regeneration over waste.
As she leads the curation of experiences for RTR 2025, Mira is spotlighting the innovations, brands, and changemakers who are redefining sustainable fashion. Through interactive showcases and compelling storytelling, she invites us all to rethink our relationship with textiles and embrace sustainability as a way of life. We’re incredibly excited to have Mira at the helm, shaping the future of RTR!
April Event Teaser: a Half-Day Retreat to welcome SF Climate Week 2025

In anticipation of SF Climate Week 2025, RTR is proud to host a first-of-its-kind, half-day retreat at the Fibershed Learning Center. This specially curated satellite gathering promises an immersive exploration of food, fiber, and climate solutions.

In-depth discussions with pioneers from Fibershed and our new partner, From Soil to Soul
Fibershed’s commitment to forging regional, regenerative textile economies aligns perfectly with our mission. This retreat is an incredible opportunity to learn, connect, and play an active role in reshaping the future of fashion. Stay tuned for more details on this!
Building on Last Year’s Momentum
We’re also building on the resounding success of last year’s Sustainable Fashion Exhibition during SF Climate Week 2024. That sold-out event at Hibernia San Francisco gathered over 350 passionate attendees and celebrated sustainable innovation through thought-provoking panel discussions, brand activations, and two inspiring runway shows.
Co-produced by partners such as Serotonin Creative, Fafafoom Studio, SF Fashion PR, Empress Vintage, and Busy Bisi, the exhibition was a testament to the vibrant creativity and commitment of Bay Area changemakers. As we look forward to SF Climate Week 2025, we are more determined than ever to push the boundaries of what fashion can be.
Do you know that the Sustainable Fashion Exhibition is our origin story?
