Rethink the Runway Weekly Recap 04.07.2025
Moments That Moved Us: Fashion, Connection & Regeneration
Hi Rethink the Runway Community 🌿 We are getting closer to SF Climate Week, and last week’s announcements were for the books! From spotlighting team members to sharing special events and brand stories, we felt a growing sense of connection and creativity - and we’re so glad you’re part of it. Here’s a look back at everything we shared last week.
🧵 Tuesday, April 1 – Kicking Off with Purpose
We unveiled Threads of Change: A Sustainable Fashion Exhibition, a week-long Fashion Installation celebrating the Bay Area’s boldest sustainable designers and dreamers. Through upcycled art, regenerative fabrics, and powerful storytelling, this immersive exhibition invites you to rethink fashion’s future.

🌼 Wednesday, April 2 – Meet Amanda
We introduced Amanda Broemmer, a Project Engineer and member of our Marketing team at Rethink the Runway. Amanda’s curiosity, science-minded approach to textiles, and love for secondhand finds remind us how personal and powerful fashion choices can be.
Her favorite part of being in the RTR community?
“Being part of a team of strong women whose passions are similar to mine - and all the amazing events ahead.”
🌱 Thursday, April 3 – A Retreat into Regeneration
We are inviting you once again to our Half-Day Retreat at the Fibershed Learning Center on April 18 - a soul-filling afternoon of garden walks, fashion shows, film screenings, and hands-on learning rooted in regenerative systems.
Come reconnect with the land and the people shaping a more sustainable future.

Q&A with Carol Miltimore, Founder of Seek Collective
And then, an extra treat for your creative soul…
We had the pleasure of sitting down with Carol Miltimore, Seek Collective’s founder, to talk about her philosophy and the roots of regenerative fashion. Here’s a snippet from our conversation:
What does regenerative fashion mean to your brand?
"Regenerative has to do with relationships and cycles. For us, this means using natural materials like cotton, wool, and silk, creating color with natural dyes, handloom weaving recycled cotton, and supporting crafts passed down through generations."
How do you help shift the public's perception of fashion as a disposable commodity?
"My goal has always been to share how each piece is made, so people understand how much care, skill, and human connection is involved. It’s a communal effort that ends in something to be worn and cherished."
What are ways customers can build better relationships with clothes and textiles?
"Think deeply before buying something new. Mend your clothes. Look for transparency — know what your garments are made of and who made them."
What are you most looking forward to at the retreat?
"I’m excited to connect with other passionate people working on sustainability in textiles — and I’m really looking forward to the film screening!"
Meet Carol and join us during the Half-Day Retreat on April 18th!
